treats the photographic archive as an image that can never be apprehended as a whole.
The installation begins with late nineteenth-century architectural photographs preserved in an Iranian state archive, known today only through degraded digital leaks. Enlarged and printed across suspended scrolls, each photograph is physically distributed into discontinuous fragments. While every fragment remains legible, the continuity of the image is repeatedly interrupted, preventing it from ever being apprehended as a whole. Mirrors further displace and multiply these fragments, requiring the viewer to move continuously through the installation without ever recovering a complete image. Echoing the fragmented circulation of the archive itself, Décalé transforms the photograph into an experience of displacement, where both perception and historical knowledge remain necessarily partial.
